Why I joined RISHI

Growing up in LA, I found it hard to connect to my South Asian identity, whether that be because of a lack of representation at school or not having an outlet to embrace and celebrate my culture. This all changed when I came to USC and discovered this club on campus. Not only did I have the opportunity to connect with students that I shared this culture with and discover a platform where I could celebrate holidays like Holi and talk about my favorite Bollywood actors, all while doing important work with our NGO partners in India and having the opportunity to develop myself as a leader. The community in RISHI is unparalleled, and I can truly say I have built a great support system on campus through this club.
