Women's Empowerment (2)

What is the purpose of this project?

In the women's empowerment initiative, we are dedicated to contributing in the quest of supporting women globally as they work towards incredible opportunities, combatting stigmatized issues and dismantling the patriarchy in the process. Our project this semester works to assemble care packages that will be delivered to single mothers in the LA area and in India; these packages will consist of menstrual products, self-care items, inspirational calendars, and more. We hope to show our love and support to single mothers through this project as they are remarkable and resilient women.

What are our top three goals for this spring semester?

1. We hope to work with local LA non-profits to complete the single mother care package launch within the LA area by the end of the Spring 2024 semester.

2. After making changes as needed based on input from single mothers in the LA pilot launch, we will work with Indian NGOs to provide care packages to single mothers in India.

3. With the help of our contact in India, we will coordinate the distribution of the Eco-Femme pads and videos to the women in Jamid. We will continue bonding as a team and keep working towards a more equitable future for Indian women.
